‘Everton teammate’ reveals ‘SON best friend’s’ downfall…”We all knew he could do well”
“We all know he could have done well.”
“Everton midfielder Alex Iwobi has revealed the reason for Dele Alli’s failure,” the UK’s Daily Mail reported on June 26.
Alli was touted as “England’s greatest talent” after his move to Tottenham in 2015. The 19-year-old scored 10 Premier League goals in his first season at the club in 2015-2016, followed by 18 the following season, signaling the arrival of a new prodigy.
Along with Son Heung-min, Harry Kane, and Christian Eriksen, he formed the “DESK” line that helped Spurs rise to the top of the table. Sky Sports in the U.K. called him “the next superstar to follow in Wayne Rooney’s footsteps”.
However, his form quickly declined. His flashes of brilliance disappeared and his movement slowed down. Unable to compete, he moved to Everton in the 2021-2022 winter transfer window.
He didn’t succeed at Everton either. In August 2022, he went on loan to Besiktas JK. However, his season came to an early end after an injury landed him on the operating table.
According to reports, Iwobi revealed the reason for Ali’s failure. The reason, he said, was Ali’s “training attitude.
“He will admit it himself. He was not a player who was serious about training. He was only good in training when he had a match,” he said.
“In the matches during training, Ali is 먹튀검증 tremendous. But in detailed training, he doesn’t move fast. He tries. In training matches, he scores goals and assists.”
Iwobi continued, “It was not easy for Ali to get a chance to play in this situation. He wasn’t being conscientious in training and the team needed someone the manager could trust. Frank Lampard didn’t trust him,” he said.
“We all know that Ali was capable of doing well,” he added.
Iwobi’s testimony also brought back memories of a conversation between Jose Mourinho and Ali. In 2020, Amazon Prime Video produced “All or Nothing: Tottenham Hotspur,” which included footage of Ali’s consultation with Mourinho, who was managing Tottenham at the time.
