It’s okay if Mitoma leaves, says ‘powerhouse killer’ 19-year-old Enciso against Man City
Brighton battled Manchester City to a 1-1 draw at the American Express Community Stadium in Brighton, England, on Friday (May 25) in the 32nd round of the 2022-2023 English Premier League (EPL).
While City, who had already clinched the EPL title, shuffled non-starters and played a loose game, Brighton pushed forward on offense. They out-shot Pep Guardiola’s side 20 to 13. That’s a tie for the most shots allowed in all of Guardiola’s previous teams combined. However, Brighton’s lack of decisiveness in the attacking third was disappointing. Kaoru Mitoma had five shots on target but failed to find the back of the net, as did both starting striker Danny Welbeck and substitute Evan Ferguson. Welbeck hit the post.
It was Enciso who saved the day with Brighton’s equalizer. In the 38th minute, he took a pass from Levi Colwill, turned slickly to find himself with a mid-range shot, and then fired a shot of incredible speed and power into the corner of the net.
It was Enciso’s fourth goal. Enciso has four goals and two assists in the EPL and one in the Carabao Cup this season. For a player who was a candidate at the start of the season and gradually increased his minutes, seven attacking points is excellent production considering he only played 979 minutes, including cup competitions.
Enciso is especially strong against the big boys. He scored his EPL debut goal against Bournemouth in April and began to show signs of being a powerhouse killer with his second goal against Chelsea, which helped the Blues to a 2-1 victory. In mid-May, he played 토토사이트 a key role in a 3-0 win over Arsenal, scoring a brace. He followed that up with a goal in a draw against Man City, showing that he can score against big teams and get good results for his team.
Paraguayan international Enciso is a diminutive, technical striker. Brighton’s formation this season has been 4-2-3-1, and he’s a key prospect who could be a long-term fixture in the central attacking midfield.
The Seagulls have a number of players who are being courted by other clubs, including winger Mitoma, midfielders Alexis McAllister and Moises Caicedo, and striker Ferguson. While Enciso’s position doesn’t overlap, the arrival of a clear-cut prospect means that the club will be able to spend their departing player’s transfer fee income more freely.
