Strasburg’s rough road to come back… Training suspended due to recurrence of injury

Washington Nationals right-hander Steven Strasburg (35) is walking a rough road. Hit another reef.

Washington coach Dave Martinez reported the news of Strasburg’s recurrence of injury in an interview with local media such as the ‘Washington Post’ on the 16th (Korean time).

According to this, Strasburg stopped training because he felt uncomfortable with the recent bullpen pitching. He did not join the club’s training facility in West Palm Beach, Florida, and remained in Washington, DC.

Martinez wouldn’t disclose when Strasburg pitched in the bullpen.

Instead, he said, “His heart wants to throw. Fans want to see him throw again. However, at this point, there are health problems. Neurological problems are holding him back. He decided to go to the doctors for a checkup, so I’ll watch.”

Strasburg, who joined the Nationals with the first overall pick in the 2009 draft, debuted in the big leagues the following year, going 113-62 with a 3.24 ERA in 247 games over 13 seasons.

He was selected as an All-Star three times and in 2019 led the team to the World Series championship and became the World Series MVP. 청소년토토사이트

After winning the championship, he signed a contract worth 245 million dollars for 7 years, but he has not been able to show himself properly since. He pitched 31 1/3 innings in eight games over three years with a 6.89 earned run average.

In 2020, he underwent surgery to treat carpal tunnel neuritis, and in 2021 he underwent surgery for thoracic outlet syndrome.

He returned last season, but after allowing seven runs in 4 2/3 innings in one appearance, he was again injured. He is aiming to return for the 2023 season, but it is not easy.
